Responsibilities
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements, and work with cross-functional teams to translate these requirements into effective PeopleSoft solutions. This position serves as primary contact for technology used to support and enhance business functions in Student Accounts relating to billing and accounts receivable.
  • Requirement Gathering: Collaborate with business stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document business requirements related to PeopleSoft applications and modules. Serves as a business systems liaison and consults with all functional user departments, IT, PSaaS, Universities of Wisconsin System Admin, and third-party software vendors (Nelnet, Workday, Campus Guard, etc.)
  • Business Process Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis and needs assessment of existing business processes and workflows, identify areas for improvement, and recommend PeopleSoft-based solutions to streamline operations and enhance efficiency. 
  • System Configuration and Customization: Work closely with technical teams to translate business requirements into system configurations, customizations, and enhancements within the PeopleSoft environment, ensuring alignment with business needs and best practices. 
  • User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Develop test plans, scenarios, and scripts for user acceptance testing of PeopleSoft Applications and modules, coordinate UAT activities with business stakeholders, and ensure that solutions meet business requirements and quality standards. 
  • Documentation and Training: Prepare comprehensive documentation including functional specifications, user guides, and training materials to support the implementation, maintenance, and usage of PeopleSoft solutions. 
  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including business users, IT teams, and project managers, to provide updates on project status, gather feedback, and address concerns or issues related to PeopleSoft implementations. 
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and new features within the PeopleSoft ecosystem, and proactively identify opportunities and assist senior staff in developing strategic approaches for problem solving, process improvements, system optimizations, and enhancements. Develop Queries and identify opportunities to streamline business practices within the PeopleSoft/Oracle database.

Telecommuting or hybrid work options may be considered only after satisfactory probationary period. Telecommuting agreements are subject to change at any time.  

Qualifications  
Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems or related field
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience with PeopleSoft ERP module in a higher education environment
  • Proficiency in SQL queries and data analysis tools for extracting and analyzing data from PeopleSoft databases
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex business requirements into clear and actionable solutions 
  • Expert knowledge of MS Word and Excel
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
Preferred:
  • Experience in financial services and/or student accounts
  • Experience with data collection tools
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Working knowledge and documented experience using requirements management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, etc.
  • Experience with functional and end-to-end testing, such as conducting manual test cases and writing test scripts
  • Experience providing end user training to stakeholders at all levels
